Malaysia born singer Datuk Siti Nurhaliza’s marriage to businessman Datuk Seri Khalid Muhammad Jiwa open up about the divorce. Khalid Mohamad Jiwa (Datuk) was 47 when he ended his marriage to Tengku Zawyah Tengku Izham (then 43.)
Rumors were rampant when that Siti was a “home-wrecker” When he reveled his plans to marry Siti.
Siti was plagued with rumors and was hurt over the allegations that she stole another woman’s husband. The Harian Metro reported that Siti is sick of the rumors about her being the reason for the divorce. People still question whether the two had hidden their plans until after the divorce arrangements were final. Some even say Siti had a potential gain financially, by keeping their relationship quiet, as it could affect the outcome of the divorce.
She defended herself by saying she had only met Datuk K after her Royal Albert Hall concert in London. The 2 explained they were initially in a business relationship and were not involved romantically. Siti also stated when a man proposes it is a surprise not something that you plan together.
Khalid had this to say “This is the question I have been waiting for. In all sincerity and as a Muslim, I’d like to say that my relationship with Siti started after the divorce, Siti had in no way have any connection with the divorce. If you check with Jawi, which carried out their investigations, you will know this is true”
During the initial divorce many of the details remained hidden from the public due to their children, but can now be addressed.
Financially here are some of the details about the divorce:
-The couple sold 2 houses sold for 1.8RM
– Datuk was to allocate funds for her annual vacation, monthly alimony, insurance, medical bills and maintenance costs as well as the household needs
-Their Matrimonial house was to be given to 1 of their 4 sons
-Tengku was also allowed to stay in the house indefinitely
-Datuk got to keep 2 pieces of land, a condominium in Jalan Binjai, another unit at the Bistari condominium and an office premise at Mid Valley
-Tengku was also awarded more than RM1Mill for mutaah (a Muslim compensation for his wife to get a new life after a divorce)
-Datuk still has financial obligations to their 4 children
